Helpful guide

Printer and copier fault checklist

Simple checks to help you describe an issue and choose a practical next step.

Work through these steps.

Read the error

Write down the exact error code and the printer make and model. A photo of the screen or print defect can help.

Use normal checks

Check paper and displayed consumable warnings. Follow the machine instructions for clearing an accessible jam; do not force panels or touch hot components.

Tell support what changed

Mention whether one user or everyone is affected, whether the machine can copy locally and whether anything changed on the network.
